Placenta Encapsulation at Flower Mound Presbyterian
Having a baby at Flower Mound Presbyterian (ie Flower Mound Texas Health South) and want placenta pills? Here’s what you need to know.
We go to this location a lot and have relationships with the ladies and gentlemen that staff Flower Mound Presby. There are a few things you do need to know though if you are delivering at Presby Flower Mound and having your placenta processed.
No Restrictions
At the time of the writing of this blog we have never had an issue with pickup at Flower Mound. Obviously the state law allows you to have your placenta taken out the hospital for whatever you want to do with it, and this hospital has always honored that, even before the law was passed a few years ago.
Easy Ice
Flower Mound is a small hospital. There is one “nutrition area” on the Labor and Delivery wing and there is a ice machine in there. As most hospitals do, it has the good ice. Not that your placenta cares, but grab yourself and your partner a nice drink with nice ice while you are putting ice in your placenta cooler.
Flower Mound Presbyterian Uses Security Codes
Both the Labor and Delivery unit and the Postpartum unit require security codes for us, our couriers and any of your other guests, to access the area. Thus when you call for a pick up, please let us know the security code you have been given so that we can come to your room. You may also give us a phone number that we can call so you can know to bring the transport kit out to us if you would prefer. However, please answer the phone if you go that route. The hospital will NOT let us pick up the placenta without your code or you personally letting us in..If we are returning your placenta products to you when you are still in the hospital, we will also need your code to make the delivery.
Don’t Have a Cooler?
Things happen. If you have a placenta but don’t have a cooler, ask your nurse if you can have two patient belonging bags. The placenta container can be put in one and then ice can be put in the other. Viola, easy cooler. Alternatively there are several grocery stores within 2 miles of this hospital. Also several gas stations. I hate to have anyone leave a new baby, but it would take less than 10 minutes to grab a cooler if you need one.
